The Children’s Evaluation Network (CEN) offers a range of evaluation
services that include neuropsychological assessments, cognitive and/or academic testing, preschool/kindergarten screenings,
and school observations. Consultations are provided to parents, teachers and other professionals working with the child and
family.
The CEN specialises
in caring for children with a wide range of challenges, from mild to severe. Some children may already have, or may warrant,
a diagnosis. These include learning disabilities, attentional difficulties, language-based disorders, executive functioning
issues, neurological disorders, Autism Spectrum disorders, genetic syndromes, mental retardation, anxiety disorders, and behavioural/regulatory
challenges.
Evaluations are conducted
to inform educational planning and intervention services by:
· identifying and offering insight into a
child’s profile of strengths, weaknesses and/or challenges.
· determining, confirming and/or ruling out
potential deficits and diagnoses.
· monitoring a child’s developmental
trajectory and progress over time.
Consultations are conducted
to inform educational planning and intervention services by:
· evaluating the appropriateness of a child’s
educational placement.
· offering strategies and recommendations
for tailored intervention services.
· helping to review assessment findings and
guide the implementation of recommendations.
Through our evaluations
and consultations, we seek to:
· provide clear and comprehensive information
regarding a child’s current functioning.
· assist in determining and securing appropriate
placements, supports and accommodations for the child so as to best address and promote their learning, adjustment and overall
development.
· work collaboratively with educators and
other providers involved in the care of the child.
· provide documentation for educational, clinical
and legal matters.
The CEN is dedicated
to providing thorough and individualised services both locally and internationally via:
· appointments at our Kensington
office location.
· off-site visits to schools and homes.
· telephone conferencing and email correspondence.
As part of our commitment,
the CEN strives to offer continuity to children, families, educators and other service providers over time, in remaining an
available and accessible resource for follow-up guidance and support after the initial evaluation and/or consultation.
